Donna and girls in a Musical

Donna and the girls were recently cast in a local Broadway-style musical, Road to the Potter’s House, and it has just finished its local run at Mainland High School Performing Arts Center.

The show is a contemporary Christian parody of The Wizard of Oz. Instead of journeying to the land of Oz after being caught up in a tornado, Dorothy endures a series of personal setbacks in the storm of life. She finds herself homeless and wandering the streets. When she is hit by a car she finds herself journeying with the familiar characters Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Lion, to the Potter’s house, where they hope to be made whole again. Instead of being antagonized along the way by flying monkeys and a wicked witch, they are accosted by vultures and The Serpent.

Dorothy and her friends never make it to the Potter’s House, nor do they meet the Potter face-to-face. However, they discover that they are made whole anyway, as they journey along the Road to the Potter’s House together.
