Joseph Corporon is a graduate of the University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL, with a degree in cello performance. He is principal cellist, frequent soloist and a founding member of Daytona Solisti Chamber Players and an active freelance musician in Central Florida. He is also a member of the Rickman-Acree-Corporon Piano Trio which performs annual concerts as part of the Daytona Solisti Concert Series.
Joe has served in the music ministries at United Methodist congregations in Ormond Beach, FL, Amarillo, TX, and Orlando, FL. He is a former member of the Miami Bach Society and taught for several years in private and public schools in Miami-Dade and Volusia counties. He also taught cello and conducted the Con Brio String Orchestra at the Flagler Youth Orchestra from 2013-2019. From 2021-2023 he was Artistic Director of the Flagler Youth Orchestra and conducted the Harmony Chamber Orchestra.
Joe and his wife, Donna, are the proud parents of two daughters and two sons. They also enjoy their four fur babies – three cats and a dog. In his spare time Joe enjoys arranging music for voices and instrumental ensembles, developing websites, and learning the intricacies of EndeavourOS (Linux) and open source software.
